House Republicans on Tuesday said their one-time colleague, fmr Rep Liz Cheney of Wyoming, should face a #criminal investigation for her role on the select cmte that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

AR-15s have become a threatening symbol from the #FarRight, Bates said, & people working in #politics or #elections have been intimidated by these #weapons in the last few years. US Dist Judge Beryl A. Howell sentenced Dykes — who pleaded #guilty to 2 felony counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers in April — to 4 years & 9 months in prison, the #DOJ said Friday. He was also ordered to pay $22k in fines & restitution.

A #Marine who gave a #Nazi salute during the #Jan6, 2021, #insurrection has been sentenced to almost 5 years in #prison.
Tyler Bradley Dykes, 26, of Bluffton, SC, grabbed a riot shield from Capitol police officers during the insurrection, which he then used to “obstruct & intimidate” officers at the scene. He was serving in the #USMC at the time.#law #TrumpCoup #Trump #PolitcalViolence #Extremism #BidenHarris2024
