#Recommendations for mobile photo editing apps?
I don't need a lot of fancy features, but
**MUST have adjustment sliders, and not just preconfigured filters.**
Also must be on F-Droid or similar.

As there's been renewed attention for pixelfed I had a look at my penworks acct on pixelfed.de. Reinstalling the android app gave me a real buzz as its improved a lot since I last had time to use it and the browser view is also really pleasing. Use the discover button to find accts you like and start building up your network. It really is nice to have a photo app that actually IS a photo app not an influencer/advertising app.

Is it just me or does the #Pixelfed app behave inconsistently? A lot of the time get a pic ready, type out the alt text and the caption. Hit “post” it says it’s doing stuff but then nothing gets posted…
Leaving me at, “Well I’m not doing all of that again.” Then I don’t go back to it for months.

Is there a web service creates a simple map* page of photos using their GPS data?
Flickr’s map is ok, but it’s based on an entire account. Can’t limit it to a set of photos.
* preferably not with Google Maps

gThumb 3.12 Released with HEIF/HEIC & AVIF Image Support
AVIF and HEIF images can now be opened and edited in gThumb, the open source photo manager for Linux desktops. The gThumb 3.12 release ships with the ability to load .avif, .heif (including Apple’s .heic) and .jxl images, as well as the ability to save images in the .avif format. What is AVIF and HEIF? They’re both new image file formats that offer a smaller file size than traditional JPEG images but with negligible loss in quality. The AVIF image format is particularly interesting as it’s an open-source and royalty free optimised image format that’s said to provide “significant file :sys_more_orange:
