Just trying #PennysBigBreakaway: great mix of #SuperMario Odyssey (yo-yo-based moveset), #Kirby and the Forgotten Land (level design), #Sonic Mania (momentum, graphic style, aesthetics) and #SuperMarioGalaxy (power-up time, missions in the level). Evolves extra lives & gameover in -10k points if you lose all attempts, then redo level or from last checkpoint. Lots of hedonistic NPCs with funny dialogues and lots of mass attack penguins. The faith in #ChristianWhitehead & #TeeLopes was worth it

Oh man, rad, my good friend Brad's game "Penny's Big Breakaway" just got announced on the Nintendo Direct this morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hAgpRYM2M8

We are both long-time SEGA fans, and he turned that into becoming level designer for Sonic Mania. Now that core team is a new studio called Evening Star, and this first game is inspired by Sega Saturn-era platformers.
