July 8 is National Video Game Day to celebrate a fun pastime! Though we haven't parodying video games too often, last year at Cleveland ConCoction we did debut a dramatic reading of "The Mushrooms of Venice" adapting the classic Super Mario games with Renaissance theatrical fantasy of commedia dell'arte pastorale. A fully staged production has been a possible consideration for Pennsic and though not this year perhaps the fungus will be among us in 2027?!

June 27 is Decide to be Married Day! Commedia dell'arte plots revolve around attempts at romance leading to marriage - and if you're the innomorati at the end of the play, take the opportunity to quickly get married before anything else oddly coincidental, chaotic, or confusing happens!

For those of us who are not commedia buffoons, any day is a good day to decide if marriage is right for you and your loved ones or if it's not. There's no wrong answers as long as there are consent and agreement between all involved. In Pride Month we are reminded Love Wins and that can be true for everyone!

Parade the Circle at the Cleveland Museum of Art was postponed last weekend due to the weather. But we are reminded of these wonderful costumes when we saw the Parade in 2019 - which are very tempting to replicate this summer at Pennsic when we stage "The Rocky Shores of Arcadia", our commedia dell'arte pastorale parody celebrating the 50th anniversary of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"!
