After putting it back together I noticed my routing option was not actually inside the case. So I had to go back in, resolder the points so the wires could more easily be tucked away. #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrorevival

Made the RGB mod presentable. Taking a break for now. My room feels a bit like a sauna on hot days. Let's wait for tomorrow to see if the retrobrighting has had any effect. After that we can close her up. And maybe do the jailbar mod on the Core Grafx II. #pcengine #retrorevival #PCエンジン

Re-capped and still working :). Let's do the jailbar fix as well. Will not be modding it for RGB, as this will be used together with the RGB modded Super CD-Rom². #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrorevival

Luckily I found the shielding of the unit, I put that away at least over a year ago. But the caps under the shielding were low profile for a reason. But I still had some, phew. #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrorevival

Looks like it should work again now. When pressing the button all the way down the latch now goes back to almost flush. Before the fix it would stick out about 1.5mm still. #pcengine #retrorevival #PCエンジン

Next. Fix lid opening mechanism. I would @pointerfunction.bsky.social to recreate and print it. But that would take time, so we need to find another way. Due to excessive use, the part that touches the button has worn out so it no longer pushes the latch back enough. #pcengine #PCエンジン#retrorevival

Forgot to take a before photo. Removed the chip using flux and low melt solder. Didn't even have to use a hot air gun. Then cleaned it up. Can't find much on using an FM16W08 to replace the SRAM in a Super CD-Rom², so will just use the guide on consolemods.org for the IFU-30. #pcengine #PCエンジン
