  1. Screen, before and after (sloppily taken with a mobile phone in a dark room. Angles may differ a bit, so add lots of salt. #snes #sfc #retromodding #retrorevival

  2. Finished recapping the 1CHIP. Next is to test and see if there is any improvement in the video signal over the old caps. Luckily I remembered (this time) to take some photos of the video output before removed Ng the old caps. #snes #sfc #retrorevival #retromodding

  3. Got the good one off and cleaned now too. Hopefully I didn't fry it, coz it got quite hot. #retrorevival #retromodding #snes #superfamicom #sfc

  4. Low melt solder is your friend when removing a chip.... But if you intend to reuse the chip... The pain! The horror! When does the hurting stop?! Cleaning the low melt from the legs is a pain in the arse. #retrorevival #retromodding

  5. For reference, these photos are from my working 1CHIP. Colors seem a bit off though, but that's for another time. When looking at the completely green and red screen the colors seem off. #snes #sfc #retrorevival #retromodding

  6. Soldered the shielded audio cable to the headphone jack pins and routed it to the back via the top side. Previously I routed it bottom side, but due to the thickness of the cable it did not fit well. So this time I am routing it too side to the back. #snk #neogeo #retromodding #retrorevival

  7. Undid all the stuff to test so now everything is back to stock except that I have CSync wired directly to the DIN. Not to test using 10K pot on the input side of the RGB lines. #neogeo #retrorevival #retromodding

  8. Finished mod and restoration of the Atari Lynx II. Re-capped, McWill (clone) LCD Mod (did not install VGA out), replaced speaker with a better one, replaced power circuit parts. #atari #lynx #retromodding #retrorevival #retrogaming

  9. All good! Also made the wires come up in the right order so next time I open her up, I will not feel uncomfortable seeing the wires criss crossing each other. #dekita #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrogaming #retromodding

  10. Took the opportunity to redo the wires from the Hu6260 to the RGB amp with better silicone wire that @aergan.com recommended (thanks!). But will have to stop here because I can't dremel at this hour. #pcengine #retrorevival #retromodding

  11. Wasn't sure if I had to remove the cap/battery, so I asked Zaxour and got an answer right away. It can be left it or removed, doesn't matter. So then I tested it and it works! Time to close her up now. Good for another 10 years at least. #pcengine #retromodding #retrorevival #PCエンジン

  12. Soldered @zaxour.bsky.social's NEC FRAM Adapter in place. Cleaned up, Positioned the FRAM chip (FM16W08-SG) and soldered it onto the adapter. Let's see if it works. #pcengine #retromodding #PCエンジン

  13. Removed the SRAM chip. Used low melt solder, flux and the heat gun. Then cleaned it up with IPA. #pcengine #retromodding #PCエンジン

  14. Finished (half) of my modular SCART cable project that I started halfway through repairing/modding my PC-Engine Duo. Finished the SCART end that has an aviation grade 10-pin connector. Now to make the ends that connect to the consoles. #scart #rgb #retrogaming #retromodding

  15. Started re-capping the good #laseractive #megadrive PAC and just noticed it needs 34x (!) 16V 10uF smd caps which I don't have that many of. Nor do I have non-,polar d caps of which it needs 2 (on this board). Guess I will do as much as I can for now. #retrogaming #retromodding

  16. After replacing the ICPs and taking lots of time removing the front and drive so I could also replace the remaining 3 caps on them I got about halfway re-assembling the #laseractive. Time to call it a day and also remembered I wanted to RGB mod it and don't have the parts yet.
