It's not just a pretty piece of jewellery they are buying (though it definitely is that too!), it's something that was made with purpose, by a person who pays herself a living wage, pays her taxes, does the best she can for the environment and spends her pennies in the local economy. She's not perfect but strives to do better where she can, and hopefully "Less" will help with that.

  2. The idea of having a connection with the things you buy really resonated with me. It's why I especially love selling my work directly to my customers. I want them to meet the person who made the jewellery they are buying, to see where it was made, and the hands and tools that made it.

  3. These things were made to last, had meaning, were treasured, looked after, repaired when it was needed and then passed down to the next generation. Some of the changes happened naturally as a result of automation, but the more recent demand for more, more, more and constant cost cutting had resulted in a fast fashion crisis.

  4. I'm sure for many the good news in this article is Patrick Grant appearing in his pants, but more importantly, he's championing Welsh underwear manufacturers. Patrick Grant does a lot for the textile industries in the UK.
