I hope this will also flow eventually into NZISM, which is still quite backwards in this.

Also good to see: 'safety/recovery questions' don't seem to be mentioned as allowed recovery means.

Does anyone out there know how to configure the new Apple passwords app so the passwords it generates don’t use dashes? I ran into a site that wouldn’t accept a password with dashes (marcos.com if anyone cares). I looked closer at what the app was generating and the only ‘special’ character it used was a dash.

    The format has consistently been:

    Some5-gibbrish-tExt7

Three groups of mixed case letters separated by dashes. I can’t find a setting anywhere. Posting as an appeal for help and also for anyone else who might have problems with dashes in passwords.

Unhelpful and dated advice found at discussions.apple.com/thread/7

  5. Sieht so aus, als dürfte ich mal wieder Passwörter raten. Oder Passwortregeln raten.

OK, ich weiß, was *nicht* den Regeln entspricht. Könntet ihr so freundlich sein, mir zu verraten was die Regeln sind? Nein? 🤬

Me: I know! That's why I tried to set it to "Hercule Poirot"

  10. You can usually tell I have had an important password expire because I start posting salty toots about passwords, but today I had a rare instance of a new password I instantly like better than the old one.
