Palace Of Fine Arts II

The Palace Of Fine Arts is one of ten structures of this nature built for the 1915 Pan-American Exposition in San Francisco California. This is located in the Marina District of the city only a few blocks up off the San Francisco Bay.
The building was refurbished and seismically retrofitted back in 2010.

This building was not built to last as long as it has. The plan was to level all of them after the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition There was a change of heart and Palace Preservation League was founded by Phoebe Hearst while the fair was still in progress. The Palace was only intended to last the length of the exhibition.
