The OpenWrt One is a nice open hardware access point, running OpenWrt by default. As the hardware is reasonably powerful and expandable, running a more general purpose OS like Debian on it can be rather convenient.

- WPA3 2,4 GHz
- WPA3 5 GHz

Seit Frühjahr wird unser #WLAN von einer #OpenWrtOne gewuppt im Austausch gegen #FritzBox. Die Anschaffung einerseits wegen Modernisierung von Softwarestack und Protokollen, aber vor allem wegen langfristigem Support bei #OpenSource.

Das kleine Blaue läuft absolut unauffällig und fast hätte ich es vergessen, aber Heise nicht.

My newly acquired OpenWrt One router is causing me some grief. It seems to revert back to the firmware it shipped with (24.10.0-rc2) when I restart it after updating the firmware and doing all the required customization. Will have to attach a serial console and see if it yields any details. I fear the storage is faulty :-(

#OpenWRTOne ist leider mit dem minimalistische #openwrt und dem Alpine Paketmanager apk etwas für Scriptkiddis.
Auf dem Gerät könnte ein angepasstes und ausgebautes OS vorinstalliert sein. Auch wäre ein bisschen Dokumentation hilfreich.
So wird der Router kein Verkaufshit.

I replaced my old TP-WDR4300 with an #OpenWRT One. It's now my main router, handling VLANs and multiple Wi-Fi access points.

I love OpenWRT, but it's not for the faint of heart. I've locked myself out a couple of times and had to reset and restore from backup. Fortunately, the One is unbrickable.

Not sure if it's because of hooking the 3d printer up to the #OpenWRTone directly via ethernet cable or just that the wifi is better, but my #Neptune4Plus is now streaming at full FPS on the webcam and not having any network reconnect issues like it used to.

Might test switching back to wifi but with the new network tomorrow after the DHCP leases expire.

Caught Denver's #SCaLE22x keynote regarding the #OpenWrtOne and ended up ordering one after getting my hands on the ones at the @conservancy booth.

The aesthetics struck me as needing some tweaks to fit into my home, so I figure I can design #3DPrinting case/covers to fit it and help with its wider apeal.
