Maybe candles. In the medieval novel, "Of Squires and Knights," there's actually a wax candle that's molded as a little castle that's mentioned in one of the chapters.
And for the upcoming Victorian novel, probably a regular hurricane lamp or maybe a candelabra. Those are both mentioned quite a bit in the story.

Probably how tightly to tie it up, as in whether to put "The
End."Struggling with that now a little, as I put "The End" with a definitive ending line on "Of Squires and Knights"--and have now decided to do a sequel.
So it looks like "The End" is moving to the second book? Do I put it at all?
That's my pain point with endings right now....
