@daverooneyca I was 9 and they found Pierre Laporte (kidnapped, tortured, executed) near my gradeschool. There were mailbox bombs. We Anglo kids were harangued by French kids with PQ parents. (I always walked the long way around, to avoid one meanie who terrorized me). We fled Québec on summer vacation that year, headed to the maritimes, passing a convoy of military vehicles coming the other way: toward our town. In Canada.
