“A number of folks work less than 60 hours and a small number put in the bare minimum to get by,” he wrote. “This last group is not only unproductive but also can be highly demoralizing to everyone else.”
60 hours per week. No respect for the Sabbath, health, or family life, evidently.

AI Hope: (probably a faint hope)
Tons of people will host DeepSeek-derived chat bots (open source, apparently), trained on open source data sets, and bust the chatbot bubble for OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, etc..
A guy can hope...

AI Irony:
OpenAI whining about DeepSeek training on OpenAI's IP?
Kinda like everyone else pissed about OpenAI training on their IP...

I've started deleting apps from my phone, and replacing them with home screen links to corresponding browser pages, under the theory that it should be easier to prevent ads/tracking via a browser page than an opaque app.

Wealth translates to power (ie. you can bend people to your will via wealth).
Democracy is power to/from the people.
We claim equality. All people are valued as equal valid, that is, invaluable as humans created in God's image.
This combination results in a requirement that the ability to influence via wealth--i.e. to distort power toward the wealthy--be limited.

@ErikUden I'm going to go out on a limb and say, any big company (western company? not sure). I think this is inevitable once (a) you're too big, and (b) you're supported by a bunch of investors. Competition isn't going to drive any innovation, so now you gotta keep the investors happy by raising rents and cutting costs. #NoTechBros

I have used Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) and other Mozilla products for years... really since the days of Netscape Navigator and then Communicator. It's certainly not the only alternative, and I know some folks have issues with it, but it's a way to dodge Chrome and it's tracking...
A non-exhaustive list of plugins I use:
- KeePassXC-Browser
- uBlock Origin
- Privacy Badger
- Firefox Multi-Account containers -

Going to start posting a bit about my efforts to De-Google my life... but it's more than De-Googling. It's also De-Meta-ing, De-Microsofting (I don't have to worry about De-Appling), etc. Really it's about trying to exit the surveillance economy as much as possible.
First up will be Firefox...
