Another motor vehicle ran into fence of Monterey’s North Fremont St center-of-street bike lanes. This design was 1st such design in California. (BTW #CalBike referred to the project as "Worst award-winning bikeway” of 2020 https://www.calbike.org/calbikes-best-and-worst-of-2020/.)
San Francisco followed Monterey's lead, putting center lanes on Valencia St, then realized that (for most locales) center bikeways aren’t the smartest design. Thanks to persistence of advocate & organizer @LukeBornheimer & other supporters of protected curbside bike lanes—not center lanes—things are looking up for Valencia.
