Part of my research is netnography - the type of research referenced here. But I want to be clear that I will never take toots or tweets for it without consent because I believe that should be the ethical floor for it. The harm done by just using them is obvious and the popii study has been used for research without their consent enough.

@Downes @cogdog Speaking of that #DunbarNumber, I wonder if there’s room to revisit his work, from the perspective of #netnography. I’ve only heard the number mentioned outside of #anthropology.
