  1. working with #eleventy and #decapcms (former #netlifycms ) is pretty awesome
With one exception the use of the word collections
one is a collection of data the other is a contentype / pagetype kinda thingie

    Naming stuff is hard

  2. #TailwindCSS Typography was ok to install, but it was a bit of a struggle to rearrange my blog layout to work with the changed margins and new spacing.

but aside from that, I can now style blog posts from within #NetlifyCMS

    #WithAstro

  3. CW: Static site generator shop talk, self-hosting, decentralised web

While working with a student, I am being caught up to this entire #Netlify #NetlifyCMS #DecapCMS #StaticCMS cascade and I am so exited.

I have not worked on many web dev projects in the last few years, but the CMS question has always been a painful one for me. I chose Bludit for the last project I worked on but was never all that happy with it.

The idea of a #selfhosted #CMS with a UI that effectively creates commits to Git a git repo is really fun to me.

The inherent super heavy JS reliance remains a question mark, but it does seem like a step forwards for decentralised web conversations and self-hosting projects.

  4. So, #NetlifyCMS got a new name a couple of weeks ago: #DecapCMS. But right before Netlify announced the new owner/name, a community fork called #StaticCMS was created. And – compared to Decap CMS which is still mostly dormant – the fork actually put a lot of work in and is about to release a new major version v2 in about two weeks. I'm really excited for this new version to be a proper successor to #NetlifyCMS. github.com/StaticJsCMS/static- #CMS #WebDev #Jamstack #StaticSiteGenerator

  5. The demise of #NetlifyCMS is really a shame. It's such an important project and there are no real alternatives. I hope that one of the community forks will be successful #WebDev #CMS

  6. Some hero have forked #netlifycms and is bringing it up to date - the glory of foss

  8. react is everywhere sigh

trying to figure out how to do custom previews in #netlifycms for my #eleventy based websites
(componenet based markdown n stuff - its rad)
Wheres the "load this template and map your variables like this"

Wonder if some edge functionality can do some magic

  9. Shifted from to - the UX for initial setup just works & the UI+UX for the is night and day. Build previews are incredibly fast, wasting just a fraction of the free-tier build time quota on . Lovely product and has my full . (rusingh.com/notes/2020/04/26/f)

Hugo)
