'Glass: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly', a quarterly art magazine published by UrbanGlass in Brooklyn, New York, which has provided a critical context to the most important work being done in the medium of glass for 40 years, includes a feature about Sunderland's National Glass Centre in the latest issue (see link below).
"After three decades, a final exhibition at the UK's National Glass Centre is looking like it will be its last"... there are more than 40,000 people signed up to a campaign hoping this will not be the case.

One of my all-time favourite installations at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland.
Titled 'Transition II', it's by the internationally renowned artist Professor Magdalene Odundo OBE.
It ran from Autumn 2014 to Spring 2015 and consisted of 1,001 glass vessels suspended from the ceiling resembling a wave.
It was apparently inspired by water and the flow of Egypt's River Nile.
