  1. Friday’s Nasty or Nice Outlook feathres the passage of an east coast cold front and rearrangement of trough and ridge.

Most of the country (including the east coasst) will have a partly nice day Friday ahead of the front.

Thunderstorms, if any will be to our north. Some excessive rainfall is possible in southern Florida.

And it’s fall. Snow is a thing with some snow down wind of the Great lakes but accumulation is unlikely.

  2. It another month, another dismal Saturday in the Deep South and the not so deep south.

The sun belt has slipped somewhat stretching diagonally from Maine! to San Diego. Excessive

    Your Saturday #NastyOrNiceOutlook

  3. Your Nasty or Nice Weather Outlook for Wednesday, 30 September.

Most of the country will have sunny to partly sunny weather. Here at Dismal Manor, cloud cover continues in the form of a cloudy-bright day with variable sun puddles.

The Texas boot toe remains hazardous to your health hot. Thunderstorm-related excessive rainfall menaces New Mexico, Western Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and parts of Illinois and Wisconsin in a wishbone of woe.

  4. Monday’s Nasty or Nice weather outlook.

Our slow-moving equinox nor’easter is parked off New York and continues to mosey to the northeast. Doesn’t it know that it supposed to go screaming away from CONUS once north of 40N?

Four Corners states remain under excessive rainfall. From too little to way too much.

#NastyOrNiceOutlook synoptic scale weather cuing — check your local forecast if your area is in the weather soup.

  5. Most of the country can look forward to a modicum of nice weather Saturday. But black holes engulf the northern Missouri River Valley and the US East Coast from Cape Henry northward to Cape Cod and the offshore islands.

Thunderstorms and excessive rainfall are possible in the Missouri RIver Valley. On the east coast, the equinox nor’easter continues to roar with overcast and windy conditions to the south and rain and wind to the north.

  6. Friday’s Nasty or Nice Outlook promises nice weather to most of the country. There are two black holes, one in the Pacific Northwest and a second stretching from New Mexico to Minnesota that is the work of the western monsoon rains. Some thunderstorms of the ordinary sort are possible in this area as is excessive rainfall.

The drought continues in most of the country. North Carolina was talking water restrictions earlier this week.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook

  7. Thursday’s Nasty or Nice outlook shows much of the country enjoying some sun but not too much. Black holes are where the southwestern monsoon is delivering heavy rains and the east coast equinox storm wind and rain. Most rain is just east of the Appalachian Mountains. Severe heat is fading with fall arrival. #NastyOrNiceOutlook cuing to check your local forecast.

  8. Tuesday's Nasty or Nice outlook smiles on most of the country except Dismal Dominion which will be quite moist. Heavy rains and coastal flooding are forecast for the northern mid-atlantic states and New England.

  9. Ok, Y’all. Here it is, Monday's Nasty or Nice Outlook. Ryan Hall holds out hope for a mostly nice day across the country. As usual, there are some carve-outs. Monday, in the desert southwest where 1 inch per hour rain fell over parts of the Grand Canyon watershed notorious for flash flooding. Deep in the heart of the Great Plains, hazardous heat and humidity will be present, some of it under Ryan's fair weather blue.

An of course, thunderstorms. Still in the southwestern mountains. Still to include the Grand Canyon. And those Grand Canyon region thunderstorms will bring excessive rainfall to some.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook

Ahoy, Cup of Tea folk. I’ve not heard much about the weather over there. Hope you all are having a gentle transition from summer to autumn.

  10. Ryan Hall prophecies that a large portion of the country will enjoy a decent final Saturday of August. There are two carv-outs for the Great Plains where heat and humidity hazardous to health are building in under a new heat dome and a portion of northern Utah where conditions favoring severe thunderstorms are expected.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook

  11. Ryan Hall’s Blue Bird of Niceness smiles on most of the country except for the mid-Atlantic coastal plain from Cape Charles southward.

Most of the Gulf and Atlantic coasts can expect scattered to widespread thunderstorms as a cold front crosses the Piedmont and Low Country.

The frontal passage may bring excessive rainfall to the mid-Atlantic coast.

The heat and humidity remain at levels conducive to heat illness in the desert southwest.

  12. Our weather hazard map is disgustingly clear of hazards Monday morning so skipping directly to the Nasty or Nice Outlook for the larger view of Monday weather.

Although our map is hazard-free, we're (Dismal Manor & Crab City) right on the edge of a severe thunderstorm advisory with tornado rider.

It's the usual late summer scattered sea breeze driven thunderstorms with isolated storms showing a bit of attitude. And some will get stuck in meteorological gridlock.

    #NastyorNiceOutlook

  13. Your Friday Nasty or Nice prophecy finds that The Carolina Piedmont, Crab City, The Peanut Patch, and Tobacco Road are in for another fresh water wash down.

Heat illness conditions are present across the Deep South, the western range, and Pacific Northwest.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will rain on the Ohio River Valley region. These storms are forming along the heat dome boundary. The area at risk extends across the Appalachian Mountains into the Carolina Piedmont.

  18. Monday has to have a Nasty or Nice Outlook — Ryan’s graphic shows a mixed happening this Miserable Monday. No place in the country has an unqualified nice day on tap.

And that patch of black on Ryan’s blue map is where the hellfire is. Kansas and Oklahoma are double-Hades-hot! Most of the Mississippi-Missouri watershed, Deep South, and Desert southwest, not to mention the Carolinas and Virginia are in hazardous heat. Most likely the day’s nasty bits. #NastyOrNiceOutlook

  19. Saturday’s Nasty or Nice Outlook begins with the national radar composite. Convection is already cooking as 0830q approaches.

Late summer hazy, hot, and humid conditions persist with much of the Deep South in conditions favoring heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Much of the south and east have conditions favoring thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, the Dakotas, and in the DC to New York corridor.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook

  20. It wouldn’t be a Friday without a Dismal Nasty or Nice outlook. Ryan’s query finds possible nice weather (blues) over much of the country but pockets of nastiness remain in the Deep South and the heart of Texas.

Heavy weather is possible in Acela Land stretching from Washington to NY. And also in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Excessive rainfall may accompany slow moving or training thunderstorms.

Hazardous heat is expected in the southwest and New England.

Excessive heat remains possible in the Deep South, desert southwest, and parts of the Northeast.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook #SevereWeather #HeatHazard

Excessive rainfall is possible in the Sonoran Desert, in Big Sky, and along the east coast.

Hazardous heat continues in the southwest desert region. #FUGLY holds sway in the yellow areas of the heat map (4).

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook #SevereWeather

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook #SevereWeather

    426 AM EDT Wed Jul 22 2026

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast Maryland, east-central Virginia, and north-central Virginia.

Today and tonight, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible. Damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall will lead to flash flooding.

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook #VAwx #NCwx

  28. The heat remains on though not featured in Monday’s forecasts. Deep South and Great Plains are in the oven Monday.

And the drought remains on although the rain is chipping away at it in the Northeast. Southeast and Deep South and west of the Continental Divide remain in deficit.

    #FUGLY #NastyOrNiceOutlook #SevereWeather

  29. Monday’s Nasty or Nice outlook definitely leans to the nasty side of things as the #FUGLY holds sway along a stalled front menacing the Virginia/Carolina border area.

At national scale the much of the country has conditions for thunderstorm development.

Severe storms are possible in the Carolina’s Low Country and the western Great Lakes.

The Gulf Coast tropical miasma is expected to make the grade later today and will be named Bertha.

  33. Interesting maps Wednesday. Much of the country will be partly sunny or better. Thunderstorms are possible but severe storms are not indicated. The heat continues with Canada wildfire smoke adding some spice. See airnow.gov

    #NastyOrNiceOutlook is nice, sort-of.
