Thanks for responding. I’m not familiar with the tech side of things but I do notice if it’s really bad. The drama is character driven & while it’s not #myjourneytoyou or #fangsoffortune in terms of atmospherics I thought they did a good job. They gave us the character Princess Wanning though, a true study in psychopathy.
Still if we all liked the same things how could there be discussions? #cdrama

I totally understand! If you’ve watched #myjourneytoyou she didn’t use the baby voice in that and like I said she used her “chest voice” in the last few episodes of #moonlight. I started the ski drama but she was so over the top cute and baby voiced I had to stop. #cdrama #estheryushuxi

I've added a few videos in followup posts to this thread for my review of 'My Journey To You', including the very haunting 'Distant Mountains Like Yesterday' by Chen Chusheng.
The soundtrack really helps make this show dark, disturbing, and emotionally moving. Chen's song is - in my opinion - the best piece in the OST and when they play it the sense are emotionally intensified.
For an American it's done in a familiar style, almost like a blend of Country and Bluegrass.

@liztai @Sollenbum Just realized that Cheng Lei is the male lead in "A Familiar Stranger" but, of course, also the charismatic second lead in "My Journey to You" 🌸 Odd that I hadn't seen that before, because he is remarkable in both dramas.

Just finished watching "The Snow Moon" with Zuo Ye 🌸 First noticed him in "My Journey to You". This drama is short but he is able to stand out with his charisma and he is still so young. Definitely an actor to keep an eye on... Hope he will be cast in dramas with higher production values in the future.

Surprising even to me. Some people are theorising that it is due to its ending.
And in truth, when I heard about #MyJourneyToYou's ending, eventho I don't understand the details, it felt very... manipulative? Cliffhanger-ish? Imagine investing all that time watching something only to get a cliffhanger in return. I would be so pissed off.
With so many shows waiting for my attention this is not a priority.

Just finished watching "My Journey to You" with Zhang Linghe 🌸 It is a magnificent Cdrama with impressive cinematography and costumes. The plot is exquisite with plenty of earned twists and turns. There is love in the drama, but it is all kinds of love: romantic, filial, fraternal and friendship. It unfolds slowly and deserves to be enjoyed without rushing.

My, oh my! So many new dramas and so little time to keep up. I've decided to try to spread out my viewing choices: "Legend of Zhuohua" is my top priority = really good, historical drama w/ round + flawed characters; next "Sunshine by my Side" w/ Xiao Zhan just dropped so am following that; lastly, "My Journey to You" surprise-dropped and I wanted to check it out and it's angsty, beautiful, stylish and Zhang Linghe is in it.
