So the host told him that he would have no problem communicating with Malaysians in Cantonese, Mandarin or even Hakka, and he asked if the Cantonese in Malaysia was the same. The host said yes, so he tested the crowd by speaking to them in Cantonese.
Later he remarked that Malaysians are experts in languages (he seemed super impressed that the host could speak Hakka! I didn't know he was Hakka. 😆)
Indeed compared to the host and many Malaysian Chinese I am frankly quite mid - I only know two Chinese languages. It's not unusual for Malaysians Chinese to know up to 4-5 Chinese languages 🫠
