with every @mp3tag update Florian Heidenreich sends out an email with information on the new version, but also with a bit of personal information. today I was happy to read about his "history" with a certain library! 🥰

And I'd put emphasis on completely populated meta tags.

Does anyone know of an ePub metadata editor that can do for books what #Mp3Tag can do for Mp3's?

Für d) hätte ich seinerzeit Clementine Player näher in Augenschein genommen. Das erlaubt auch Metadaten-Bearbeitung, c). Bin aber nicht mehr weit damit gekommen.

Und eben: YMMV.
Um Beschäftigung mit der Materie und Finden eines eigenen Wegs wirst du nicht herumkommen.

Für a), b), c) würde ich EAC erwägen. Da hat wer einen Artikel dazu geschrieben:

EAC verwendet für b) eine Open-Source-Quelle, die von Freiwilligen bestückt wird und eventuell Qualitätsprobleme hat, oder Lücken bei exotischeren CDs. Es braucht also vermutlich manuelle Nachbearbeitung. Vermutlich ist dann MP3Tag das Mittel der Wahl.

"Standard" weiss ich keinen. Ich hatte vor Jahren ähnliche Überlegungen angestellt, bevor mich meine Familie quasi zu Spotify nötigte... 🥴

Also, rein subjektive Gedanken dazu, die dir helfen oder vielleicht nicht:

Der Knackpunkt sind a) das Erzeugen von Song-Dateien ab CD, b) die Metadaten, woher man sie kriegt, und wie sie c) möglichst aufwandarm in die Song-Dateien kommen, und d) die Verwaltung der Song-Dateien, Playlists, usw.

Finally trying to bring sense to my offline audiobook library with the excellent #mp3tag tool on Mac. Thanks god they have released a #MacOS version.

Used mp3tag to export all embedded album covers in my music collection to cover.jpg files in each folder, and now gonic can see them and I have album covers in my personal Spotify :partyparrot:

It's been a big day of music here in my household!
I've spent a lot of time again spending all my money on BandCamp to get music for my radio show #TheCrypt.
Found a great little utility called #MP3Tag. Lets me rename all the songs however I want so they make more sense and are easier to read in the radio station player. Everything is organised now! :)
