ok fediverse hive mind I'm looking for a solution to playing music from Navidrome (hosted on proxmox) on a Raspberry Pi with a dac hat. I'm currently using Moode without subsonic (I couldn't get it to work). I've got a VM running Mopidy/Iris/Mopidy-Subidy but album art wasn't implemented (not the end of the world I guess).
What's my best solution?

When #sonos forced me to use their new shitty app (they remotely disabled the old version) I had enough. I bought a new #raspberrypi, a pair of second hand active speakers, and I installed @moodeaudio. It does everything I need and more. I like it!

@peturdainn @jpmens @moodeaudio
Yup! Bluetooth, Airplay, Spotify Connect, SqueezeLite and UPnP client for MPD. It's all there in @moodeaudio !

Had a short experience with some Sonos speakers and Sonos Connect Amp. Never been truly happy, but when the enshitification began bugging me, sold the bunch, installed @moodeaudio and never looked back.

@lhengstmengel https://moodeaudio.org/ was mentioned somewhere and looks quite promising.
One challenge would be the TV Audio input, which is Dolby Atmos and via HDMI 😬 Not sure how to handle that. -
Juiste move away from companies that criple their products....
I got rid of all the Sonoscrap last year and turned into opensource (https://moodeaudio.org).

After a small amount of messing around with the kitchen Raspberry Pi-based sound system, I am now on both the 5GHz network as well as running moOde with the included AirPlay function switched on. Works flawlessly!
Also, now playing smooth jazz, feeling the powers of chaos bubbling up in me.

For the excellent audio streamer software #moOde version 8.3.7 is now available https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=5966

Did you consider #Moode Audio Player as well? Great #FOSS audiophile #audiosystem as well.
A bit more steep to get it running, compared to Volumio, but leightweight and very stable. I am enjoying it sofar.

I initially set up #MoOde instead of Volumio, and also this seemed relatively simple to set up until I ran into a problem of not being able to set my configuration. It seems this is behaviour known for this audio player, but other than trying a fresh image there did not seem to be a clear solution: https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?highlight=rotary%20encoder&tid=5668
After trying a number of times with a fresh image and a fresh SD card, I gave up. 😅

@thomas Did you check out http://moodeaudio.org/ ? Maybe this will help you out on your BT-Issue. #Moode is also based on #raspbian, just like Volumio is.
