ISSSTE fortalece la detección de cáncer de mama con salas de IA

Estas salas se ubican en los HRAE de Torreón, Coahuila, y Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco; el HR “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos”, Ciudad de México, y la CH “Mérida”, Yucatán

El director general del Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), Martí Batres Guadarrama, anunció la puesta en marcha de cuatro salas de interpretación de mastografías con Inteligencia Artificial (IA), una estrategia que fortalecerá la detección y el diagnóstico oportuno del cáncer de mama.

“Esta semana comenzaron a funcionar cuatro grandes centros de interpretación de mastografías con la utilización de Inteligencia Artificial en hospitales del ISSSTE. (…) Con estos centros se fortalece el diagnóstico oportuno, la detección temprana de cáncer de mama en su caso y, sobre todo, lo más importante, se salvan vidas de muchas mujeres”, destacó.

El director general detalló que estos espacios de interpretación, conocidos como “Cuartos Azules”, se encuentran en los hospitales regionales de Alta Especialidad (HRAE) de Torreón, Coahuila, y Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco; en el Hospital Regional (HR) “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos”, en Ciudad de México; y en la Clínica Hospital (CH) “Mérida”, en Susulá, Yucatán.

Precisó que las salas son operadas por médicas y médicos radiólogos con alta especialidad en imagen e intervención de mama, quienes, con el uso de la tecnología, agilizarán la interpretación de estudios y los tiempos de atención. Cada una cuenta con seis estaciones de lectura y en conjunto podrán interpretar más de 400 mil mastografías al año. –sn–
