#Irizar e-mobility has secured an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its 18-metre Irizar ie #tram Efficient, following certification of the 12-metre Irizar ie bus Efficient last year. The ISO 14025 Type III declaration, independently verified by Certinalia, provides internationally recognised, third-party assessed data on the vehicle's environmental performance across its life cycle. Valid until March 2031, the certification supports the company's sustainability strategy. The fully electric 18.2m bus carries up to 150 passengers and is around 1,000kg lighter than its predecessor, increasing capacity by 5%. It also cuts #energy consumption by 10% through thermal management, a compact motor and next-generation batteries. The EPD reports 21% recycled content, a recyclability rate of 95.32%, a recoverability rate of 97.99%, and assembly using 100% #renewable electricity.

This bus is a bit like #TrenMaya. Not a total fail, has good intentions. And needs a little bit more care to truly unfold its true potential.

Vy Buss, #Sweden's long-distance bus operator, has launched a pilot programme with Scania’s liquefied biogas-powered Irizar i8 coach on the Karlstad-Arlanda route. This coach runs on #biogas or natural gas, offering a range of up to 700 km without refuelling.
