Actually going to see about using a Mastodon Desktop app, just so I can track how long I use Mastodon per day. This will rather go really right or really wrong.

Mas parece que o número de usuários brasleiros cresceu. Enfim... Acho que a galera ainda não entendeu que a graça daqui é você ter sua própria comunidade.

Total de Servidores pesquisados: 32
Total de Servidores ativos: 22
Total de Servidores abertos: 12

This is why I don’t like the official #MastodonStats (even though they’re probably the best ones we have).

Last Thursday their count showed almost a million fewer accounts than the day before, and now they’re all back. No explanations given.

Infelizmente, o total de usuários em instâncias brasileiras continua caindo, apesar do Mastodon continuar crescendo?

Alguém tem alguma hipótese?

O número de usuárias(os) em instâncias gerenciadas por brasileiros cresceu 18% em apenas 1 mês. São 2290 de contas não únicas (já que uma pessoa pode estar presente em mais de uma instância).

São 25 instâncias analisadas sendo 14 estão abertas para novas inscrições.

This is what Mastodon's recent bounce looks like from my 4 months of tracking. Active users seems to be a metric that decays slowly but responds quickly to new activity.

My results don't seem to be very different in profile from the official https://api.joinmastodon.org/statistics summary, though the numbers are a little lower (mine exclude servers that respond to API queries inconsistently).

I'm tracking #mastodon active user stats, very boring, very little change. Except the past couple of days, two big jumps in the raw numbers (that got filtered out of the quality-controlled numbers, all the same).

Much excitement, until I found it's down to a single site that came out of nowhere and claimed 300,000 active users yesterday and 600,000 today.

I also found pravda.me, which fluctuates wildly between about 150 and 30,000. Can't tell if it's legit.
