Today at Macalester's convocation, one of the speakers mentioned the Andrea Gibson poem "What Sucks About the Afterlife" and oh my, it is a lovely, lovely poem:

I was glad to see Harvard take a stand against the Trump administration, and am now very happy to see so many colleges and universities sign on to this statement about academic freedom:

In particular, I'm happy to see several institutions I've worked for or attended there: the University of Wisconsin -- Madison; the University of Puget Sound, and my upcoming Macalester College.
