Well, last night's efforts at shooting Messier 101 and its latest supernova were less than optimal. I was unable to track accurately enough to collect enough photons in each frame for a successful image. I'll probably be working next on getting autoguiding up and running. While I was out I made a quick grab of M57 -- the Ring Nebula -- and it's pretty; helped soothe me today when the M101 effort proved fruitless! M57 Ring Nebula

Magnitude 8.8 planetary nebula located 2,567 light-years away in the constellation Lyra. At the center is a white dwarf that burns over 100,000 degrees Kelvin. Surrounding it is an envelope about 2 to 3 light years in size of what was once its outer layers that were blown away into a cylindrical shape some 6,000-8,000 years ago.
