Well, last night's efforts at shooting Messier 101 and its latest supernova were less than optimal. I was unable to track accurately enough to collect enough photons in each frame for a successful image. I'll probably be working next on getting autoguiding up and running. While I was out I made a quick grab of M57 -- the Ring Nebula -- and it's pretty; helped soothe me today when the M101 effort proved fruitless! Bortle 6/7 sky. #m101 #m57 #supernova #astrophotography
