Every year I buy some small amount of Longjing/Dragonwell green tea. For the last few years, I have pre-ordered Longjing from Mud and Leaves, theirs is always a reliable and tasty example of the tea. This is 2022 Mingqian Mei Jia Wu West Lake Longjing #43, Premium Grade.

2/ Our theory (which I can only imagine has been handed down for centuries) was that the dampness reminded the reeds of their native swamps and marshes, and so they felt more comfortable with us using them in this fashion.
I have similar animistic and superstitious feelings about green tea, especially longjing. Today's brew seems especially verdant, I think in response to the rain.

Warm weather continues, so finishing off the end of some Mingqian 2021 Mei Jia Wu West Lake Longing #43 Green Tea from Mud and Leaves. Still great tea, but bottom of the bag, more broken leaves than usual. Also, I think my scale needs new batteries, it's getting a little flaky, (this seems like a lot of leaves, even though I weighed a couple times). Zip, Zap, Zoom!
