Another Oolong sample from Mud and Leaves, this one a Taiwanese 2019 "Alishan Jin Xuan Golden Lily". A "Milk Oolong", it is very light, subtle oolong with no roast and medium (25%) Oxidation. Tasty, but I probably should have drunk it sooner...

HeHuanShan High Mountain Oolong (2019) from Mud and Leaves light and cheery Taiwanese oolong; light oxidation, no roast. Almost a green tea. I should probably have drunk it sooner, but the sample was vacuum sealed, so probably not much change in my cool basement storage.

Alishan High Mountain Jade Oolong (spring, 2021) from Mud and Leaves is a super clean light oxidation and roast Taiwanese oolong. Pretty close to a green tea.

Starting the new year by spilling a big pile of dry black tea on the kitchen table while trying to weigh it. Interesting to taste the Hong Yu Ruby 18 from Mud and Leaves with San Francisco water, after drinking it made with Phoenix, AZ, water. Definitely a clearer expression of the tea.

Azure Spring Yunnan Sun Dried Yunnan Ancient Tree black tea is nice, almost no astringency or bitterness. For a Yunnan black tea, it is a bit more like a Taiwan black tea in style.

2023 Azure Spring Yunnan Sun Dried Ancient Tree Black Tea is from a Taiwan based producer via Mud and Leaves. Less aggressive than I expected, quite mellow dark stone fruit flavor, but with strong, fast energy. Zip, zap, zoom!

DalunShan Red High Mountain Oolong from Mud and Leaves. As I have mentioned before, I always find Taiwanese red oolongs (and Taiwanese red/black teas generally) to be comfort teas. They are easy to brew with their low astringency and bitterness. Nearly impossible to oversteep, I often brew them quasi-gongfu with an in mug filter. Here, I am brewing in a stoneware pot.

2015 Keyixing Bohetang Old Tree Pu'er Tea via Mud and Leaves. Mud and Leaves is mostly a teaware supplier, but they also sell some Taiwanese tea and Puerh from Taiwanese based companies. This is a rich, soft, enjoyable young Puerh with a chewy soup. They sent this tea as a sample with some other items, so I don't know much more than that.
