#Columbus area folks, come join @NatashaDianneHere and me to knock doors and talk to voters. We’ve got some much at stake: we’ve got to reelect #SherrodBrown to prevent a national #abortion ban and more, we can end #gerrymandering, and we can pass #LinkUs—a massive #transit expansion for #CentralOhio. And if you, like me, are experiencing some election anxiety, talking to voters will make you feel better!

COTA's board has approved the #LinkUS ballot measure to fund #BRT, bikeways, sidewalks, and more bus service: https://cota.com/blog/cota-board-approves-ballot-measure-to-expand-transit-and-provide-more-access-to-sidewalks-bikeways

@somcak The dedicated money to improve bus frequency is coming! This November, there'll be a sales tax increase on the ballot from 0.5% to 1%, which will about double COTA's budget. They'll use that money for:
- more-frequent buses
- longer service hours
- new BRT routes, maybe including one on the South Side
- more sidewalks and bike lanesIt's a tax increase because that's the biggest way Ohio allows COTA to be funded.

@heartlandurbanist I'm glad that there's an "Urbanism PeerTuber" for my city of #ColumbusOhio because there's almost no coverage for things like #LinkUS.

@betterstreetschicago #COTA/#MORPC's #LinkUs plans for BRT in Columbus will take 7-8 years to be built, if they get the funding to do the road work. #COTA isn't interested in building out high-frequency transit through increased service, and there's no appetite in the #Ohio Statehouse for other forms of high-capacity transit. You might get BRT before us.

@jackissocool #LinkUS plans to build a BRT line for COTA in #Columbus; they just finalized the #LPA choice: https://linkuscolumbus.com/northwest-corridor-locally-preferred-alternative-adopted/
$130-$180m for mostly center running, which seems like like waaay too much money for this. $4m/y operating costs.
