"Salinas police will host a community e-bike safety presentation Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Salinas Police Department. The presentation will cover e-bike and e-dirt bike laws, safety concerns and parents’ responsibilities.
"A Spanish-language version will be held Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the police department."

At yesterday’s Vision Zero meeting for Monterey County, the challenges of Salinas Road were among topics discussed. In fact, on Wednesday, a Watsonville resident traveling by bike was going north on the shoulder of Salinas Road when he attempted to make a left turn and was hit by a GMC Yukon. The Yukon’s driver fled the scene. Good Samaritans assisted the injured bike commuter. Thank you to law enforcement; the driver has been arrested and faces felony #HitAndRun charges.
