Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen izna -- R.I.P.
I haven't watched much Kpop this week, but I did manage to catch this nice pop rock B side from izna. Let's not get into a footwear discussion...

Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a
music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I
have chosen izna – Metronome. What a wonderful comeback! The music clicked with me immediately, with the contrast between the two parts of the chorus being particularly striking and pleasing. I also liked that unexpected dance break. I'm going to have to learn names, as the members have nicely distinct voices. So far the only member I can name is Koko.
I often prefer performance versions to MVs, but here the MV is a winner. The musical contrast has a satisfying analogue in the visuals; look not just at the settings, but also the hairstyles, the outfits, and the make up. Everybody in their diverse ways looks gorgeous throughout.
Of course, the most immediately impressive part of the choreo is that for the first part of the chorus, but I must admit to being so taken with the girls dancing face to face then moving into a V formation in the second part of the first chorus (1:05 -- 1:11). The forest set dance conveys intimacy, grace, then power.
I've played the MV umpteen times and also enjoyed the music show stages, the performance version, the Studio Choom, and the B sides. My pleasure has also had the added spice of the unexpected, because although I had liked "Racecar' and "Timebomb", "Mamma Mia", their most recent title track, grated with me. How delightful to have low expectations so decidedly surpassed!
Unfortunately, it seems from what I read online that the clicking and purchasing public are less enthusiastic about this comeback. Let's hope sales pick up!

Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that have particularly liked. This week I have chosen SEEYA -- Stay.
This old Kpop group is new to me. I enjoyed their singing, was charmed by dancer /choreographer Aiki (is she famous?) combining the elegant and the humorous, and was refreshed by a song unburdened by the unmelodic.

Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen izna – Racecar.
A difficult choice this week, but I finally settled on this “Racecar” stage.
The song does not have a fully sung chorus, but I am not one of those who make it an inflexible rule to damn the “empty chorus” The prechorus works very well, and I like the vocals. I do wish the song had been extended.
I chose this stage because a restrained use of colour achieved that “unity without uniformity” look which I find so appealing. Kpop does not have to be all eyepopping colour and more of everything.
Look at the reply I am appending to this post to compare this stage with ….

VIVIZ -- EUNHA -- Full Moon @ ULSAN SUMMER FESTIVAL -- (FANCAM)
https://youtu.be/TXkDDm1lDlI?si=m9w4aZG9WOhibIsnThis is already one of my favourite fancams.
(How lucky I feel, having been born into a Britain with three channels of black and white television, that I can now watch the beautiful Kpop idol Eunha sing and dance without the restrictions of broadcast schedules!
I know there are many downsides to this media and information explosion, but we should not forget the ways in which it has changed the world for the better.)
Contrary to my usual preference for the dressy over the casual in Kpop styling, I prefer the outfits here to those worn in the stage I have recently featured in #KpopOfTheWeek .
A few seconds that strike me in this fancam are those following 0:34. Eunha stands, with her attention, I would guess, completely devoted to listening for her cue.
These moments of selfless concentration in performance can be so wonderful to see, let alone experience. Here's Eunha in another such moment...
