I really like these outfits, but I doubt that the they will have anything like this on their tour. My guess is that they will do with outfits as they have done in Australia.
I don't know if outfits matter to you; they do to me, so I was a little disappointed that the VIVIZ North American tour has not included an outfit change during the concert.

Looking at not just the outfits but also the American West inspired imagery projected behind the group, I am reminded how rich a source of myth and symbol the US in general and the US West in particular have been in global popular culture.
I'm aware, of course, that the US West is a real place, with its own history populations, and challenges, as opposed to being merely a location for frontier "process" or myth .
Yet its mythic function does exist and does matter to the global imagination -- the west, and perhaps the US more largely, imagined as a place of openness, abundance, youth, freedom....all suggested in this and a million other pop videos.
How deeply rooted is this myth? Will it survive the years of cruelty, tyranny, and the inward looking closure of opportunity and of minds that MAGA is bringing to us?

Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen STAYC – I Want It.
A fun summer song that doesn’t feel as though it has been abbreviated to maximize streaming.
I chose this stage because it doesn’t have that awful headgear they put on Yoon during the second half of the MV.
What do those who have had little exposure to Kpop make of stuff like this?
Although I’m always curious with regard to kpop about the views of who aren’t fans, in this case my curiosity was prompted by the number of times I’ve seen “I Want It” described as “100%” or “pure” Kpop.

I was so delighted to hear STAYC -- So Bad in Starbucks this afternoon. I never tire of promoting their wonderful debut song, and I just hope that readers do not tire of my advocacy. In addition, I am always thrilled to hear Kpop in the wild!
Apparently the song is currently on the Starbucks Coffeehouse Pop playlist. I wonder how songs are selected for inclusion.
Although the "visual overload" MV is great and very kpop, I also like the more austere visuals of this suit dance.

I know some people think this song, like "Teddy Bear", is puerile, but I love it; it's wonderfully catchy bubblegum pop, and the amusement park is such a suitable setting .
STAYC all look wonderful, and I especially applaud the stylist's choice of boots. This style does not make the feet look grotesquely enlarged, as is all too often the effect with very chunky or platform boots.

Although “official” fancams, like the scripted adlibs of kpop, smack of the oxymoronic, they can nevertheless capture moments not to be seen on standard music show videos, such as the delightful fist bump shown at the opening of this “So Bad” stage:
I love seeing the gorgeous Yoon’s facial expressions all the way through what remains as one of the strongest debuts ever.
