I’m not feeling the best vibes about Predator: Badlands.
I love what Dan Trachtenberg has done with Prey and Killer of Killers, but the Badlands trailers, including this new one aren’t selling the movie to me.
I think the main thing that is throwing me off is the look of the Predator in this movie. It doesn’t look right.

so, I went through #Predator #KillerOfKillers and.. yeah I have thoughts.
- frame rate sucked, why?
- first 2 stories are ok, 3rd is dumb, 4th.. too much to hold my belief in suspension, but ok
But it breaks my head canon: predators are supposed to be _hunters_ not to enjoy random arena shit. Also it has time travel maybe? Or do they just randomly decant frozen warriors? Meh. -
This movie was so good. I'm definitely gonna watch it again soon.
Trachtenberg is currently 2 for 2 in his #Predator movie run with #KillerOfKillers. Now the wait for #Badlands begins...

Predator: Killer of Killers knows how to do a lot with very little
It seems like the movie Trachtenberg was going for here was way too risky and way too ambitious for a studio to green-light it normally. But if he can do that on a fraction of budget. As animation. And not a budget, something like Pixar uses for their ultra-realistic stuff and fluent motion. But on a fraction of that. He can use the trend of animating on-twos and making everything painterly, to cut all of the corners necessary to make this insane movie with the small amount of money that he is given.

Predator: Killer of Killers is awesome! Better if you are following the movies. But great still standalone. Some damn good fights scenes, but also really good character work.
The grafix can be a little video game-y. HOWEVER, that does not detract from the effectiveness and talent on display.
These are 3 well told stories that dont feel rushed. Leading to another good one to cap things off. I HIGHLY recommend this.
