I played #KeeperRL over the weekend. v1.0 was released just the other day and I enjoy myself some #DwarfFortress and I have fond memories of #DungeonKeeper in my youth :)

But dear heavens this game doesn't pull any punches!

After a 4+ hour run that went really well, my main character (the Keeper) finally got a mount to ride into battle and I was so thrilled I steered him into elven crossbow fire and lost the run.

It's very well-made, can recommend. But be patient :)

We hit 50k #youtube subs. Feels good to hit those milestones, see you guys on Tuesday for dwarves and I hear that KeeperRL hits 1.0 on the 28th.

@stephann @sahil this is a misconception, having different licenses for code and art is fine and a great way to enjoy open source and also sell your game. Lots of projects do this kind of thing.

For example #KeeperRL is on steam and itch but you can get a free version that doesn’t have nice art. The code is open.

I maintain https://osgameclones.com and most games require assets from the original game to run; this is a way for fans of older games to enjoy them on newer hardware.
