I asked one of the folks on the Aussie #FountainPen Discord which ink they'd like me to use today and they chose Diamine's Bittersweet.

Of course that got Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve stuck in my head, oh yes, there was no shifting it. Go and look at the clip on Youtube and see if I got the sense of it with this mer version of Richard Ashcroft rudely swimming through a bunch of sea creatures.

Day 8 is Marley, a purple gray with some amazing chromatography with a rose hue and a vivid teal making an appearance.

Swatches are made on Canson, cold press 140lb watercolor paper with a brass Kakimori nib. I’m using a self-inking stamp from Midori that has an oil based ink. My wife spotted this stamp at a Kinokuniya Portland visit.

I was curious about this Frost pen in Violet from Kakimori because they sell a rollerball option along with a fine and medium steel nib option. I bought all 3 options and will report on how well they work. I've always been curious about rollerballs that fill with fountain pen ink, but know they haven't been well-received due to flow issues. I'm curious if Kakimori found a good implementation.

At midnight I'm going to open my #Diamine #Inkvent2022 calendar! I specifically didn't read about the inks, so I have no idea what colors are included. This is my first time getting the calendar (since I only got into #FountainPens in August), so I'm excited! ✒️ I have a #Midori MD notebook and a #Kakimori dip pen with the brass nib to do the swatches and writing samples. I didn't prep what I'm going to write, just see how it goes.
