Forgotten Frequencies, Vol. 2: Territories – Available Now!
It’s what the title says, my latest ambient soundscape album, Forgotten Frequencies, Volume 2: Territories is out today! Huzzah!
Forgotten Frequencies is an auditory exploration of the world of the Bell Forging Cycle. As before, all of these are all long looping tracks, each around ten minutes in length, designed to be environmental aural impressions of the Territories. That’s right, in this second volume, we’ve stepped away from the warrens of the big city and into the wilds beyond.
You’ll walk alongside travelers along the Big Ninety, explore the city of Syringa, and take time to reflect at a Road Priest’s chapel. You’ll hear the caravan settling in for laager around a campfire, passengers enjoying gaming and music onboard the Gamble, and perhaps even venture into more sinister locales.
Cover for FORGOTTEN FREQUENCIES: VOL. 2 TERRITORIES albumThe intent here is chill soundscapes. There are no spoilers. There are no jump scares. These are intended to be background tracks for reading, but there are plenty of other uses as well. They’d make perfect background sounds for a tabletop RPG session with your friends, or good atmospheric sounds for focus. My hope is you find them relaxing and they add a pleasant ambient rustle to your day.
Big thanks to my buddy J. Rushing for stepping in to play the role of a guitar picking roader on the fourth track “At Laager,” his efforts add a lot to that scene. Not only is he a talented musician, but he’s also a great writer. Be sure to check out his dark fantasy noir novel, RADIO.https://open.spotify.com/album/1QOnVzPxqPpLNCqiSeApjh?si=4F1Dtxg1SNW9_ekB6hp-sA
Track List
- The Big Ninety
Take a walk down the main arterial that cuts through the heart of the Territories linking Lovat to Syringa and beyond. It’s a pleasant day, but in the distance trouble is brewing. - Road Priest’s Chapel
A small mobile Reunified chapel stopped on the side of the road serves as a place for rest, contemplation, and prayer. - Syringa
There’s plenty of places to get into trouble in the lively and often wild scratch of life between the high plains and the Eastern Mountains. - At Laager
Just before dinner, somewhere off trail, a peaceful, and quiet evening at camp.
Featuring: J. Rushing - The Broken Road
No one walks this road anymore. The farther you follow its overgrown trace, the more you understand why. - Forest of the Dead
You thought it was a myth. But here you are and it is terrible to behold. - Onboard the Gamble
Roader boots not needed here. Just hot hands and quick wits.
Featuring: Fats Waller and His Orchestra, 1938 - The Wasteland
The eldritch reflection of the Territories, feels vacant of life but teems with sound. Something massive moves beyond the horizon.
Featuring: A Church Choir
Forgotten Frequencies, Vol. 2: Territories is out now, and you should be able to find it everywhere you can stream or buy music, including the following platforms:
(Note: Some store take a little longer list albums. I’ll activate them as they go live.)
As with Vol. 1, please let me know what you think, and if it strikes your fancy drop me a review. And please tell your friends. Escape the scrape and span of Lovat and enjoy your time in the Territories; we’ll eventually leave the road and find ourself somewhere unexpected. Forgotten Frequencies, Vol. 3 will arrive sometime after The Bell Forging Cycle, Book V.
