  1. My trusty Logitech MX Master 3, which I use daily for both work and home was beginning to peel and look tatty.

Rather than pay for a new MX Master 4, I managed to find a 3D model of the top cover which I had 3D resin printed by #jlc3dp.

I'd argue this looks as good as the original if not better! And all for about $10!

  2. Oh wow! I was curious, so I uploaded all parts of the #NeXT #MegaPixel Display for #SLA printing to #JLC3DP. Just to see how much the resin print would cost. All parts, printed with black resin including surface treatment, add up to about 225 EUR! For one(!) display!

It's funny that #FDM printing is even more expensive, with poorer surface quality.

The parts for the #NeXTcube mini cost a similar amount. I'm starting to have my doubts as to whether anyone will even buy it

  3. TIL: JLC (you know, the "JLCPCB" people) has a 3D printing service, and one of the materials they're offering is stainless steel.

Yep, they're 3D printing (as in, layers, not machined) stainless steel. (TIL that this is a thing at all.)

And they were asking YouTuber polymatt to do a video about it. He was like: "Sure. Let's print a full metal case for a vintage butterfly keyboard #ThinkPad 701C!"

tl;dw: It's not exactly _practical_, but it works.
