New interview in my #JFXInAction series. Florian Enner impressed me at @devoxx conference with his 3D visualizations and scientific charts with millions of points, showing real-time data received from robots and sensors. And using the same code, he does this on both desktop and mobile! Awe-inspiring work, making maximum use of the powers of #Java to combine network communication with a #JavaFX user interface.

The first "JavaFX In Action" interview of 2025 is live! With Hydraulic Software, Mike Hearn solves a problem many developers struggle with: efficiently distributing your application and ensuring the users get the latest version. With #Conveyor, he created a tool to easily create an installer for #JavaFX, #Electron, and #Flutter apps!

In part 11 of my #JFXInAction interviews, we look at game development. #FXGL is a library created by Almas Baim that helps us create #JavaFX games. But it’s much more than games! With the integrated Goal-Oriented Action Planning (#GOAP) functionality, it can use game technology and AI to solve any goal, based on actions and preconditions. In this video, Almas live codes such a solution with a minimal amount of code!

In the previous "JFX In Action" interviews, we saw combinations of JavaFX with Scala and Kotlin. In this episode, we look at the combination of JavaFX and Quarkus. Thanks to #QuarkusFX, created by Clément de Tastes, we can use the many advantages of the @quarkusio system to create a desktop application.

My following "JavaFX In Action" guest, Ulas Ergin, shares how his team uses #JavaFX in a developer tool and as the basis for a migration from a Swing-based application to a new tool that combines all the power of #Java, JavaFX, and #React. They are working on a powerful application used by the banking and call center staff.

In the following "JavaFX In Action" interview, I talked with Christoph Schwentker about @jabref. It's a tool written in Java and JavaFX to collect, organize, and discover literature for research projects. JabRef is developed as free, open-source software and saves your data in a simple text-based file format with no vendor lock-in.

I love #JavaFX. It’s my go-to for every desktop user interface application I build because it's so simple to quickly create an app that makes full use of the “#Java powers”. I’m starting a new video series “JFX In Action,” in which I talk to developers to show the world what is being developed with JavaFX. In the first one, I talked to Pedro Duque Vieira about his work on both applications and libraries.
