I am currently a third of the way through the new Jan Misali video and would like to shout into the void that Sunshine should not be a mainline mario. It's just too different with its overwhelming movement gimmick, the lack of varied 'travel across the globe' biomes etc.
If it was released as Toad Sunshine instead noone would have batted an eye and can you really say that for any of the other core mainline stuff?
IMO it's a major mario spin-off that just happens to both have mario as main character and be a jump-and-run. #mario #janmisali
