Going to watch Ep. 1 now on #Nebula but have criticised the show in the past for being "the train game" - because they spend so much time on trains and is pretty much the only mode of transport they end up using.

Would still love to see a series which had less reliance on #trains and more hitch-hiking / ride sharing.

After sleeping for just two hours on Wednesday night, I’m pleased to share I slept all night last night.

Might have had something to do with the metric ton of tacos I had for dinner, or the ginormous Micheladas I had afterwards 🍺

Who can say?! Either way way, I feel like a new man and can’t wait to tuck into breakfast 🍳

Went to bed last night hoping I'd sleep a little later today. LOL. Wide awake at 3:30am. The #JetLag is real.

Anyway. I just have to stay awake and vaguely with it until I board my plane a little after 4pm today. 🤣

• All laundry now washed, dried and ironed ✅
• Suitcase packed for Mexico! ✅

In #JetLag news, I had an unplanned nap on the sofa for an hour and it has completely screwed me up! Anyway, early to bed tonight, and hopefully more sleep.

• Second load of laundry is now hanging out to dry ✅
• First load of laundry ironed ✅
• Third load is in the machine ✅

In #JetLag news, I’m desperately in need of a nap. But, no. It’s time for a Diet Coke and more ironing.

Wide awake due to #JetLag. But it's actually quite helpful as I have so much to get done today - an extra couple of hours are very welcome!

• Unpack the bags from #Japan
• Run as many loads of laundry as I can
• Iron all my laundry
• Re-pack my suitcase for #Mexico
• Check and check again I haven't forgotten anything

I forgot a piece of luggage somewhere in the terminals of Toronto Pearson airport, upon arriving from Tokyo to connect to Chicago, and finding out that the flight is cancelled, and being rebooked on the one 12 hours later.

Now I am short of a laptop from the employer, some notes on paper, a non-trivial amount of Japanese cash (remains of a per diem), and few not so valuable things. That was on Thursday, and I am still to hear from various Lost and Found establishments 😠

Reviving a 10-years old laptop I stopped using 1.5 years ago, as a replacement, isn't fast. It seems I need to rebuild the kernel, and update a number of packages to the next major number. And I can't affort to use ~amd64, as building anything from sources is way too slow.

It took me a while to revive Xmonad I've been using as the X11 windows manager, as Haskell packages on Gentoo aren't in a great shape, so I removed them all and set up Haskell via GHCup.

We knew that if we were the first at the starting point, we would make an extra 40 points. So we got there fifteen minutes ahead of 19:00, and claimed those points.

We needn't have worried too much, one team was out in the sticks, and over 90 minutes away, and the other got Deutsche Bahned Rodaliesed and wouldn't make it for another hour.

We spent the last fifteen minutes or so, outside the Apple Store, when we were hit by inspiration (and a little push from the helpdesk) and chose to do a quick reenactment of the end of #JetLag Tag EUR It 3, where we summed upour feelings at that moment - Jet Lagged!

And that was it. Final score was 438 points for our team, 498 points for team 2, and 515 points por team 3!

It was a great game, and FormulaOtaku put a lot of care and attention into creating 106 challenges, 4 curses, 4 battles (which I think were never used), and picking out well over 30 Bonus Locations. A huge success!

I’m feeling a little queasy, so sitting out whilst my team mates grind out a few challenges.

In the meantime, I can catch you up on some challenges we’ve completed.

The second was ably done by my companion Marsha, who condemned bullfighting in front of the camera.

And the third was a coin flip challenge. This was much easier than the ones in #JetLag, and we managed to get 4 heads in a row starting with the first toss!

That was an easy 60 points!

On the rails again…

It wouldn’t be a #JetLag game in Europe without some public transit. In particular, trains.

We start today from Estació de França, built as the Terminus for all the trains coming from the rest of Europe for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. It was renovated in time for the 1992 Olympics.

These days, it is severely underutilised, serving as the terminus for a few regional lines, and a handful of Iberian gauge medium- and long-distance trains.

We are heading off to our next destination from here.
