CW: fossicking minewaste in Cornwall
Two composite images of the same #IronPyrite crystal cluster.
The square crystals with a lot of twinning (growing through each other) is a telltale sign to distinguish it from chalcopyrite or marcasite - which are also common metallic minerals in Cornwall.
Pyrite is a pretty decent #semiconductor and has a melting point of 1,177-1,188 °C.
