I bought #Battletech Armored Combat (as well as the Beginner Box) a few years ago, but I never got around to playing it. Combining it with my old #HeroScape terrain does seem like a good idea.

It looks like Renegade Game Studios licensed it from Avalon Hill/ Hasbro at the beginning of 2024.
I have a ton of the original sets, but have not played it in years. I would love to buy the new stuff and support it but unfortunately it would probably just sit on a shelf.

Played some Heroscape last night. We're missing a lot of pieces so we brewed up our own board and armies.
Despite my bad choices I only lost by about 180 points or so (who am I kidding, I got DEMOLISHED and not in a good way)

Today’s lunchtime #tabletop game of #FistfulofLead . Too hectic to take photos. Ten player Aliens vs Humans. The #heroscape Alien nest is a bit of a fan favourite amongst the students…they’re always asking about it. Humans destroyed the nest BTW. #wargaming #miniaturewargaming

I ran a 7 player game of #dungeon at my school’s lunchtime D&D club today. I always add some old school #heroscape & WizKids(?)collectable D&D figures to spice it up, as the standees are a bit ‘how’s yer father’….anyway, this is the third week of Dungeon…the students keep coming back for this game. One kid told me he even went out and bought a copy of it. So I guess it’s been a real hit. Simple, fast playing…low stakes. Good fun. #Tabletop #boardgames

After crunching numbers on standard #HeroScape map sizes I’ve come to the conclusion that most common beginners maps have roughly a 90-ish tile footprint. I have therefore decided that HexPrint will have roughly 170-tile footprints for most battle maps, to permit more models and greater ranges.

I think for my wargame I’m going to officially abandon abstract rules for LOS and go with “look at it from your mini’s point of view.”
My desire to create an unambiguous system was perhaps blinding me to the main advantage of a miniatures game: easily referenced objects in relation to each other in 3D space.
Once again, #HeroScape proves itself ahead of its time.
