Beyond our featured TTRPGs, the Session Zero Heroes crew stays busy with all sorts of tabletop gaming. Our latest session was a game of Heroscape using homebrewed characters from across the DC, Marvel, and Lord of the Rings universes.

I bought #Battletech Armored Combat (as well as the Beginner Box) a few years ago, but I never got around to playing it. Combining it with my old #HeroScape terrain does seem like a good idea.

I had no idea that #Heroscape was back!
It looks like Renegade Game Studios licensed it from Avalon Hill/ Hasbro at the beginning of 2024.
I have a ton of the original sets, but have not played it in years. I would love to buy the new stuff and support it but unfortunately it would probably just sit on a shelf.

Played some Heroscape last night. We're missing a lot of pieces so we brewed up our own board and armies.
Despite my bad choices I only lost by about 180 points or so (who am I kidding, I got DEMOLISHED and not in a good way)

I ran a 7 player game of #dungeon at my school’s lunchtime D&D club today. I always add some old school #heroscape & WizKids(?)collectable D&D figures to spice it up, as the standees are a bit ‘how’s yer father’….anyway, this is the third week of Dungeon…the students keep coming back for this game. One kid told me he even went out and bought a copy of it. So I guess it’s been a real hit. Simple, fast playing…low stakes. Good fun. #Tabletop #boardgames

Playing #HeroScape today for the first time in over a decade after I moved away from the group of people I learned the game with. It’s still super fun! Gotta do this more often.

The more I think back to #HeroScape, the more I remember how it did away with a lot of frustrations in miniature wargaming. I'm kind of thinking that I should replicate that in my own wargame design.

I wish they hadn't killed HeroScape :( There was a crowdfunding campaign for a publisher to make more of it last year, but they didn't meet the quota. It was my first war game. Progress on Starship Troopers... the Planeswalker Heroscape boards make a good TTG "field"... using 4 sets, so 24 in total... it's slightly over 6 x 4 foot ... because it's on a 7ft pool table 🤣🤷♀️🥴
Currently thinking I'll use three different #Heroscape terrain tiles... the sand tiles from the Planeswalker sets (full cream), the sand & rock tiles from original Heroscape (brown edged, sand) & (brown edged, gun metal grey)
