We have to #work today more than we did twenty years ago. After work, we rush to make the most of our free time. As everyone else is rushing too, we increase each other's #tension.

But what do we do in our free time? We communicate about trivialities, consume #media while doing housework. We never get any #rest. We postpone slowness until our vacation, and because it is supposed to take place in a very special place, we remain #hectic even on the way there.

We have lost #silence and #calmness.

Today has been insane. I took the morning off so that I could take Miss Robin Sparkles the cat to her vet appointment. I dropped her off, ran some errands, went home, re-watched most of last night’s three episodes of Andor, went back to the vet’s office to pick her up, came home, ran another errand, ate lunch, and punched into work at 1:00pm.

That’s when it hit. I had meetings scheduled from 1:00-5:00. Bam. All of them. One after the other. At the same time I was getting hit with all sorts of customer issues and questions and hectic stress and wow… It’s 5:31pm now. I can punch out. I need a nap!

My brain is absolutely fried.
Today is the last day of coursework submissions for this semester. What a hectic month.
DNN with PyTorch, Brain model parallelisation with MPI, SYCL and OpenMP offloading of percolation models,hand optimizing serial codes for performance.
Two submissions due today. Submitted one and finalising my report for the second one.
Definitely having a pint after this

Woah, boy was I ever right on that prediction! This morning has been CRAZY! My head is spinning right now. One thing after another on top of the next thing along with five other things at the same time. What a morning.

I haven’t had a bite to eat in five hours and I don’t feel any hunger pain. That’s a good thing, right? I’m about to break for lunch. Here’s hoping the universe leaves me alone for a while so I can eat it.

I messed myself up this morning. I overslept a little and then made it worse by not getting into my morning routine for about half an hour after I got out of bed. Ooops. I’ve been all out of whack ever since.

It actually started last night around 11:00pm. I went to bed really late and didn’t fall asleep for about an hour. I made a plan to do some guitar work after finishing my morning exercise. I picked two songs from the list of things I want to re-record and listened through them to remind myself what needs to be done. Then I had a snack and went down a small youtube rabbit hole (videos about Lord of the Rings back stories). (Oooops)

Then I got a really late start and didn’t have time for any guitar. I did open a box that FedEx delivered yesterday. It had some dishes in it that came from IKEA. Almost 50% of the items in the box arrived broken. Damn it. Then I punched into work and it’s been seriously hectic so far. It’s almost 12:30 now and the morning was colored by lots of urgent issues. I actually had a pretty long to-do list for today and I haven’t gotten to any of it yet. Here’s hoping the afternoon calms down.

I had to have a snack at about 11:30 and I over did it. Now I need to wait until my stomach empties out a little (no bad issues, I am just a little too full) before I can have any lunch.

We don’t have any plans in place for the weekend yet. I am still on the fence as to whether or not a leaf peeping drive to the mountains would be worth it or not. Maybe I’ll just take Dad’s camera and a roll of black and white film out and be faux artsy around town. Maybe.

Five hours to go until the weekend. Duck and cover and get through it, folks. Good luck.
