I have my doubts that Gowalla will succeed, but I still think that social media that tells me what you’re doing is way more interesting that social media that tells me what you’re thinking. Location-based social media is very much on the doing side of things (you have to physically go there, after all). It’s back on the list of location-based games, which number about half a dozen, that I play regularly. #Gowalla

@chartier I’m able to use it while giving it one-time location access. And I’m using it just fine without giving my contacts to them (I never give any app any of my contacts). #Gowalla
Update: I saw a screenshot of the onboarding process, and I guess it’s been a while since I’ve done that (I’ve been on the Street Team since the start of the beta period, which, I will say, I didn’t find a lot of time for).
