Just had the pleasure of watching ‘Good Night, Oscar’ in the front row at The Barbican. Sean Hayes was phenomenal, as was the whole cast to be honest. Telling the tale of virtuoso Oscar Levant, often struggling with his mental health on live TV.
Brilliant production - I love the mid-century set design, clever lighting and the subtle ‘padded wall’ background.

Good Night, Oscar covers one night in the life of #OscarLevant, a night that never actually existed. The version of the live taping we see is, instead, a composite of some of Levant’s most shocking, and viscerally painful, television appearances from the late 50s and early 60s.
