wtb non-meme (that is, has drivers and codecs) #linux distro that can be used even if left in a bag for a month and that has all the softwares available in some self-updating form (arch is unbearable when too many updates queue up)
would also be good if VSCode could work (this disqualifies fedora immutables, somehow, afair their sandboxing breaks the debugger?)
ubuntu 24.04 and thus all derivatives are shipping neutered and thus useless .net packages and there is no vendor repo this sucks a ton makes me want to leave
current LTS of nodejs included would be really cool
target machine a would be an hp elitebook (i5-8350, iGPU, 16GB RAM) with disc encryption preferably
