Nachdem wir den Rollout von unserer v2.4.0 Firmware im Januar leider unterbrechen mussten gibt es mit v2.4.1 auf Basis von Gluon v2025.1.1 nun einen neuen Anlauf:

Eine wichtige Neuerung ist das diese den OWE Transition Mode aktiviert. Die owe.freifunk-rhein-neckar.de SSID wird demzufolge nun versteckt werden und Clients entscheiden automatisch ob sie OWE oder nicht OWE nutzen wollen.

GluonFX + GraalVM is truly impressive.

I have a technical question:
With modern GluonFX builds, Android apps seem to support only **arm64-v8a** ABI.

Previously, with JavaFXPorts (javafxmobile plugin), both **armeabi-v7a** and **arm64-v8a** were supported.

Getting started with my first Nix package.

PR is now open, but I lost at least an hour tonight figuring out where service definitions are supposed to land in the package.nix file.

Turns out: They don't... There's a parallel folder structure in the same repo providing modules for that.

Leaving that out for the start.

If somebody has a little more experience in packaging, I'd be grateful for a review :)

I start experimenting with an array of authorized ssh fingerprints in our nodes.json.

SSH fingerprints are effectively abbreviated encodings of sha256sums of the SSH pubkeys authorized to access a device.

While this does obviously not leak your key, it allows you to systematically identify the routers you have access to.

Feedback welcome.
Would this something we'd consider as gluon-package or should it better reside in the community packages?

@johanvos I never worked on embedded area, I heard c and cpp is the dominant there, I wonder what libraries and languages used there and how can you bring some attention from them to #gluon

I know @frankdelporte develop pi4j maybe he knows some people from embedded world

I started putting around release accounts like @swaggerific do you want something similar for gluon , I can do that 😇
