  1. I've added another 15 entries to my list of publications that mention the #GLAMWorkbench or one of its related tools (such as the #Trove Newspaper Harvester). That makes an even 100 references from around the world. glam-workbench.net/citations/ #GLAM #collectionsAsData #researchImpact

  2. I followed this up, wondering if the gold rush shows up as a newspaper business disruption more broadly across #TroveAU.

I used @wragge ‘s #GLAMWorkBench to "Visualise the total number of newspaper articles in #Trove by year and state". I specified #1840s and #1850s as the date range. Attached workbench screenshot and chart showing a significant drop in articles in gold rush 1852.

  7. There's a new #GLAMWorkbench notebook that demonstrates how to harvest data describing periodicals that have been submitted to #Trove via the National eDeposit Scheme. glam-workbench.net/trove-journ

There's also an associated dataset with CSV files that list all 7,974 titles and 156,153 issues. You can also explore the data in Datasette-Lite. glam-workbench.net/trove-journ #GLAM #digitalHumanities #collectionsAsData

  8. A short update on the new #Trove Government section of the #GLAMWorkbench, the underlying work using #ROCrate to capture and integrate metadata about GW resources, some interface tweaks, and data on 24,997 digitised Parliamentary Papers! updates.timsherratt.org/2024/0 #histodons #GLAM #digitalHumanities

  9. A long-standing #Trove API bug has been fixed – the /newspaper/titles endpoint no longer includes government gazettes (they have their own endpoint). Looks like I can finally retire the #GLAMWorkbench notebook that documented a workaround. #digitalHumanites

  10. Although it's not included in the plan, I'll also have to be updating the #GLAMWorkbench as I develop the content for the #Trove Data Guide. glam-workbench.net/

That's because I'll be using the GW to save related tools, resources, and tutorials -- some new, most updated. On top of that, v3 of the Trove API will be released shortly, so I'll have to update *all* of the Trove content in the GW.

Anyway, that's probably enough planning for now. Tomorrow I'll make a start on the content! 😬 #dayOfDH2023. #dayOfDH
